thursday in february

rock is cold.
cold and distant.
in ny, rock is cold and distant and, now after tonite's show at the murcury, more than ever feels like a combination of chicago politics and the upper class: machine-like, tied to personalities who are part of bigger games, so deeply and secretly incestuous.
but, then again, i'm new here. and admittedly not of the best spirits or natures these days. and kinda realize that, in probably any place where you are not part of what's going down, this might be the take. everything's made up of individuals. and that's always hopeful to remember.
i duhnno.

what i do know is that it is a full moon tonight.

and it's really beautiful.

Monday, February 14

My valentine thought to you:

Yes, roses are red,
Yet these words hold true:
The Hallmark holidays are not
Healthy for you.

Save passionate acts,
And unveiled attraction,
For moments less lost in
Collaborative action.

For googly eyes
And hormonal ragings
Require no prescribed date,
Or emotive grand-stagings.

So FTD, lose!
We will yearn, we will ache,
On the days that we choose,
Not the ones that you make.

And spend as we please,
This most faux-festive day,
Without posture or cheese,
In our own heartfelt way.

Be yers.

Wrist corsages, stilted social dancing, and uncomfortable clothing entirely optional. Flower-, gift-, lovey kindness-, and chocolate-giving smiled upon any ol’ time!

Happy day!
Aimee
